Day 1 – On your arrival you will be met by a representative of Enjoy Lanka Travels at the airport and transferred to Colombo- a 60 minutes drive. You can rest relax at the hotel and recover from jet lag. Depending the availability of time together with your ideas we will do a brief city tour.

Day 2 – After breakfast at the hotel visit the historical and beautiful temple “Gangaramaya” in Colombo . also you will be taken to a large temple with fine paintings, situated in the suburban area “Kelaniya”. Depending your liking you can visit some historical Catholic churches and some Hindu temples with some cultural value.

Day 3 – After breakfast at the hotel proceed towards Anuradapura. En route you will visit Yapahuwa – once a glorious capital and see the famous rock and the ruined castle. Check into the Miridiya hotel, rest and relax. In the evening visit Mihintale, the historical place where the Buddhism was first introduced. See the old hospital of 9 th century AD, alms hall and lot more.

Day 4 – After breakfast you are given the opportunity to explore the ancient city of Anuradapura – the 1 st capital of Sri Lanka also a UNESCO world heritage site. You will see the world largest “stupa” , lot of ancient ruins and monuments, archaeological museum, twin ponds, the best moonstone in Sri Lanka, “samadhi” Budda statue, famous love couple at “Isurumuniya” etc. in the afternoon travel to Dambulla and check into hotel Amaya Lake, relax and enjoy a nice cool dip in the pool.

Day 5 – After an early breakfast at the hotel proceed to “Sigiriya” with your trainers on (training shoes) and explore the rock castle belongs to 5 th century AD. Sigiriya is a unique combination of 5 th century architecture, urban planning, gardening, hydro technology and world famous fresco arts. This is one of the world heritage sites and also the 8 th wonder of the world.
Evening you can go for a nice herbal body massage which is also a part of “panchakarma” treatment (optional). Also you have the opportunity to go on an adventurous and exciting elephant ride which is very popular among tourists (optional).

Day 6 – After breakfast check out and travel towards Kandy en route stopping at the Dambulla cave temple where you can take some beautiful photographs, if you wish you can climb up to the caves. On your journey to Kandy you will be taken to “Nalanda Gedige”, a temple with a mixture of Buddhist and Hindu cultures, which is situated at a beautiful scenic location.In the evening you can witness a colourful pageant featuring drummers, dancers, acrobats and exciting finale of firewalking.

Day 7 – Have the breakfast early set off towards the famous rock temple – Gadaladeniya. You will see some fine carvings and paintings, explore some more monuments and buildings in the area. If you wish you can visit the elephant orphanage-Pinnawela. Come back to the city Kandy , pay a visit to the temple of the Tooth relic of Budda is one of the most important places that you visit. Next you will be taken to Royal botanic garden-Peradeniya with more than 100 endamic trees and more than 5000 species of trees, plants and creepers together with very rare varieties spread over 147 acres.

Day 8 – After breakfast proceed further up in the hill country to Nuwara Eliya. The drive along the windy roads is spectacular with misty mountains, lush green tea bushes in large tea estates. A visit to a tea factory and see how the tea powder is made out of leaves. You will see some beautiful waterfalls while you travel through hill country. Nuwara Eliya is also known as “little England ” and the climate is cooler than other areas.

Day 9 – After breakfast check out and proceed to enter the dry lowlands and come to Katharagama. En route explore some interesting archaeological sites situated in remote areas and in the forests. Among them Buduruwagala, Maligavila, Okkampitiya are the main ones.

Day 10 – After breakfast visit the historical temple of Katharagama dedicated to God Skanda, a Hindu God. This temple is very popular among Buddhists, Hindus as well as people of other religions. Rest and relax till afternoon. Afternoon start around 3 PM and board a 4WD jeep to enter the National park Yala, which is the 2 nd largest wildlife park having largest population of leopards in Sri Lanka . Also a variety of other animals including elephants and a large variety of birds can be seen at Yala.

Day 11 – After breakfast proceed along the coastal road towards Bentota, en route visit the “blow hole” – to see the sea water pops up like a fountain through a hole in the rocks at the ocean. Also you will visit the ancient and historical temple at “Wavrukannara”, where the 2 nd largest seated Budda statue in Sri Lanka is situated. Traveling onwards you will reach Galle and visit the Dutch fort – another world heritage site. Arrive at the Serendib beach hotel Bentota.
