Day 1 – On your
arrival you will be met by a representative of Enjoy Lanka Travels
at the airport and transfer you to the River resort – Kitulgala.
Kitulgala is the kingdom of rafters where you can experience quality
white water rafting. The river resort is situated in one of the most
beautiful locations of the country and it is built alongside of the
“Ing Oya”, a beautiful river. This is a very eco-friendly
hotel famous for its nature trails.

Day 2 – After
breakfast you can have a walk to the caves, where there is evidence
of the pre-historic settlements. Also you can see some waterfalls.
You have the opportunity to go for white water rafting within 20 minutes
drive you can go to Kelani river, where quality rafting take place.
Rest of the day have a cool dip in the pool or river.

Day 3 – After breakfast
check out from the hotel and start to ascend to the hills through
windy roads until you stop at St. Clairs and Devon waterfalls. Then
proceed to Nuwara Eliya which is also known as “little England”,
with lots of British colonial buildings, Golf courses and race courses.
This is situated 6730 ft. above sea level, the world best quality
tea is grown in this area. Check in at Galway Forest Lodge –
Nuwara Eliya.

Day 4 – After an
early breakfast or preferably with packed breakfast proceed to “Horton
Plains” – Sri Lanka’s highest and most isolated
plateau with rare species of flora and founa. You can see the ‘Baker’s
falls” and “Worlds end” – a terrific escarpment
drops vertically for about 5000 ft. After a tired day of hiking you
can rest and relax at the hotel.

Day 5 – After breakfast
check out and set off towards Kandy by train. You will be received
in Kandy by your chauffeur/guide along with your baggages. Kandy is
the 2nd largest city also the last kingdom of Sinhala kings. In the
evening you can witness a colourful pageant featuring drummers, dancers,
acrobats and exciting finale of firewalking.

Day 6 – After breakfast
at the hotel you will visit the elephant orphanage Pinnawela. You
can have your lunch by looking at the sight, the spectacular scenery
of the bathing and playing of elephants in the river. The elephant
orphanage was set up in 1975 with the intention of helping the elephants
in distress. Initially they started with 3 babies and now it has expanded
up to more than 75. the number often increases. You can also see the
limping elephant walks with 3 legs, the old blind elephant, the tiny
babies and many more. On the way back visit the temple of the tooth
relic of Budda, a must to visit. Do a city tour and in the evening
a well earned rest.

Day 7 – After breakfast
check out and proceed towards the northern direction to Dambulla.
On your journey to Dambulla you will be taken to “Nalanda Gedige”,
a temple with a mixture of Buddhist and Hindu cultures, which is situated
at a beautiful scenic location. Also you can stop at a “spice
& herbal garden” at Matale which is the spice capitol of
Sri Lanka. In the evening you can go for an adventurous and exciting
elephant ride completely free of charge for the entire family.

Day
8 - After an early breakfast at the hotel proceed to “Sigiriya”
with your trainers on (training shoes) and explore the rock castle
belongs to 5th century AD. Sigiriya is a unique combination of 5th
century architecture, urban planning, gardening, hydro technology
and world famous fresco arts. This is one of the world heritage
sites and also the 8th wonder of the world.
Evening you can go for a nice herbal body massage which is also
a part of “panchakarma” treatment (optional). Also you
are free to go for a wildlife safari specially to see wild elephants.

Day 9 – After breakfast
you will proceed towards western direction heading for a very special
experience of a complete eco-house in Anamaduwa. This place is ideal
for bird watching, jungle trekking and site seeing. The facilities
here are basic but the atmosphere is very healthy for all of you.

Day 10 – After
a very special breakfast with lots of country food you can go for
bird and animal watching. Afterwards you have the opportunity to visit
some ancient temples and rocks. Have a sumptuous lunch with lots of
country vegetables and fruits to give your body a soothing effect.
Rest and relax till evening and go for jungle trekking until the falling
of dark.

11 – After breakfast depart to the airport for your flight
out , which will take around one hour and 45 minutes drive. |
