| Day 1 – On your arrival
you will be met by a representative of Enjoy Lanka Travels at the
airport and transferred to Negombo- a 15 minutes drive. You can rest
relax at the hotel and recover from jet lag.Dinner and overnight stay

Day 2 – After
breakfast at the hotel check out and proceed towards Dambulla en route
visit elephant orphanage Pinnawela. You can have your lunch by looking
at the sight the spectacular scenery of the bathing and playing of
elephants in the river. The elephant orphanage was set up in 1975
with the intention of helping the elephants in distress. Initially
they started with 3 babies and now it has expanded up to more than
75. the number often increases. You can also see the limping elephant
walks with 3 legs, the old blind elephant, the tiny babies and many
more.
Check into the hotel Amaya Lake – Dambulla, relax and enjoy
a nice cool dip in the pool.

Day 3 – After breakfast
at the hotel depart to explore the ancient city of Polonnaruwa –
the 2nd capital of Sri Lanka also a UNESCO world heritage site. Lot
of findings belong to the ancient period can be seen at the museum
near the “Parakrama Samudraya”, a large lake made by king
Parakramabahu the Great. Large “stupas”, ruins of palaces
and well preserved rock cut statues at “Gal viharaya”
are to be seen.
On your way back to hotel explore the “Ritigala” –
ancient jungle ruins of hospital/monastery located in a forest of
medicinal trees.

Day 4 – After an
early breakfast at the hotel proceed to “Sigiriya” with
your trainers on (training shoes) and explore the rock castle belongs
to 5th century AD. Sigiriya is a unique combination of 5th century
architecture, urban planning, gardening, hydro technology and world
famous fresco arts. This is one of the world heritage sites and also
the 8th wonder of the world.
Evening you can go for a nice herbal body massage which is also a
part of “panchakarma” treatment (optional). Also you have
the opportunity to go on an adventurous and exciting elephant ride,
which is very popular among tourists free of charge for the
entire family.

Day 5 – after breakfast
depart to Kandy en route stopping at the Dambulla cave temple where
you can take some beautiful photographs, if you wish you can climb
up to the caves. On your journey to Kandy you will be taken to “Nalanda
Gedige”, a temple with a mixture of Buddhist and Hindu cultures,
which is situated at a beautiful scenic location.
Also you can stop at a “spice & herbal garden” at
Matale which is the spice capitol of Sri Lanka. In the evening you
can witness a colourful pageant featuring drummers, dancers, acrobats
and exciting finale of firewalking.

Day
6 – After breakfast a city tour in Kandy which is the 2 nd largest
city also the last kingdom of Sinhala kings. The temple of the Tooth
relic of Budda is one of the most important places that you visit.
Next you will be taken to Royal botanic garden-Peradeniya with more
than 100 endamic trees and more than 5000 species of trees, plants
and creepers together with very rare varieties spread over 147 acres.Dinner

Day 7 – After breakfast
proceed to the railway station to board the train that connects the
two hill stations Peradeniya and Nanu Oya. This will be an unforgettable
train journey through hills, misty mountains, lush green tea bushes
in large tea estates. Your chauffer/guide will follow you to Nanu
Oya railway station, by road along with your baggages. A visit to
a tea factory and see how the tea powder is made out of leaves. You
will see some beautiful waterfalls while you travel through hill country.
Nuwara Eliya is also known as “little England” and the
climate is cooler than other areas. A further drive through windy
roads to Haputale Kelburne situated in a breathtaking scenic location.

Day
8 – After breakfast you can go on a hike to see Lipton seat
– an Englishman Thomas Lipton’s famous meditation spot,
situated at a high mountain. A panoramic view over the mountains
and valleys. Rest and relax in the afternoon.

Day 9 – After breakfast
proceed towards the dry areas leaving hill country through some of
the most beautiful scenic locations. Check into the hotel, have some
rest and by around 3 PM get ready to enter the Yala national park
– the 2nd largest wildlife park in Sri Lanka having the largest
population of leopards in Sri Lanka. Also a variety of other animals
including elephants and a large variety of birds can be seen at Yala.

| Day 10 – After
breakfast proceed along the coastal road towards Hikkaduwa en route
visit the “blow hole” – to see the sea water pops
up like a fountain through a hole in the rocks at the ocean. Traveling
onwards you will reach Galle and visit the Dutch fort – another
world heritage site. Arrive at the beach hotel Amaya Reef for dinner
and overnight stay. |

Day
11 - after breakfast you option to go for an interesting boat ride
at Madu river. You will see a variety of animals, birds and about
62 islands where you will get the opportunity to visit a few. Some
are specialized in cinnamon plantation and you can see how they
get quality cinnamon out of the tree. Also you can see a rare type
of black monkey, you will see the prawn traps and many more. Afternoon
relax at the beach.

Day 12 – After
breakfast proceed towards Colombo. on your way you can see one of
the most dangerous professions in Sri Lanka – toddy tapping
and perhaps you will see the big fishing net called “beach seine
nets” or “ma del”, a spectacular sight to see. Check
into the hotel Trans Asia – a 5 star hotel in Colombo. in the
evening do a city tour and some shopping.
