White Monkey – Haputale

It's our pleasure to inform all our friends that we have built up our first single/double cottage with comfortable bathroom, western toilet, bigsize beds, mosquito nets, solar light, hot water by order, panorama window, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
After cleaning our land from all weeds we found a fantastic, quite place to enjoy our nature. From our cottage, constructed direct above a deep abyss, you can hear the voices of thousands of birds, monkeys, wild pigs, cocks and deers coming up from the jungle, 300-700m down under.
There is a free view over the plains to the coast in 70 km distance. In clear nights you can see Hambantota and container ships passing the coastline.
We do offer the first and only one comfortable cottage 3 km east of Haputale with fair prices for low-budget travellers and families. Also from middle of June 2005 we have started two family rooms with comfort bathrooms and big size roof top terrace. From there you have a good round-view to the tea estates, Lipton Seat and south of Sri Lanka.

Landa – Belihul Oya

Landa Holiday House hotel Belihuloya Balangoda Sri Lanka ,waterfall by black rock wall About 10 minutes from Balangoda on the newly carpeted A4 road, before you come to the bridge and rest house, you turn right and go down the steep hill. You keep going past the point where you think your car can return safely and you enter a beautifully overgrown garden with huge trees.

Castle Hill Guest house – Kandy

Castle Hill Guest House has barely changed in 30 years -- a lick of paint here, a small repair or update there. The result for the budget traveller has traditionally been a much-loved family home resonant of a simpler, less demanding era. "To change Castle Hill would be to ruin it, the old look has to remain," says Ayoni Senanayake. That atmosphere still suits some, but more demanding clients, seeking a modern, "boutique" atmosphere or attentive standards of service, should look elsewhere. Standards of cleanliness for instance, can be particularly inconsistent and the family dogs are also not always appreciated.

Country Garden Resort – Kandy

Country Garden Resort is set within a five-acre plantation with diverse crops including tea, paddy, fruit, and vegetables. Accommodation is in six individual chalets overlooking a small river that borders the property. The restaurant is housed in the manor house, which originally belonged to the Panabokke family – a well-known Kandyan family. The current Dutch owner, Trudy, has retained the traditional architectural features of this `walauwa’, including the courtyard, verandas and a rice granary. Interiors are furnished with antiques and the restaurant area also serves as an art gallery where local artists are encouraged to display and sell their works of art. With prior notice, Country Garden can arrange experiences for guests including: (1) Learning of heritage arts & crafts where traditional craftsmen are invited to visit the resort and demonstrate handloom weaving, woodcarving, etc. Guests are then taken to the nearby villages where these crafts are carried out as home-based cottage industries. (2) Learning of Kandyan cuisine from shopping in the village market to preparation of rice and curries according to traditional Kandyan recipes. (3) Mind and body wellness through Ayurvedic massage, yoga and meditation. A minimum of three nights stay is recommended for those wishing to experience one of these specific programmes. Whether you want to learn of Kandy’s heritage or just relax and unwind in a homely Kandyan walauwa, Country Garden Resort provides for a good alternative to the larger hotels situated in town.

Hideaway – Arugambay

A homely guest house with comfortable cottages and a/c rooms, Hideaway is situated on a six-acre estate amidst swaying palms, flowering shrubs and fruit trees and attracts numerous varieties of birds and the occasional monkey and mongoose. Originally a holiday home of its Sri Lankan owners Vernon & Marlene, it weas expanded to include guest rooms from the late 1970s and from these humble beginnings eventually became a guest house with the feel of `home away from home. Although much hardship was endured following the devastating tsunami in 2004, the cottages and rooms have been rebuilt and today offer some of the best a/c rooms in Arugam Bay. Although Hideaway doesn't have direct access to the beaches, a five minute stroll takes you to one of the main surf points on the bay.

Star Dust Beach hotel – Arugambay

Apart from a beautiful ambience and cleanliness many small details add to the comfort of each room: Quality matresses, a mosquito net or repellant (you choose), and of course soap, tissues, a supply of ice cold (or hot) drinking water, and a cup of tea or coffee when you wake up in the morning.
All rooms & cabanas have mini bar, fans, mosquito nets & repellants, attached bathrooms, private terraces or balconies. Sea view from all rooms & cabanas. All ground floor rooms & cabanas have direct access to a big private beach garden. No AC in any rooms for environmental reasons. The rooms are well ventilated with fresh sea breeze & fans.

Kandy Cottage – Kandy

Kandy Cottage is a holiday home located in the heart of Sri Lanka's spectacular central mountain region, yet only ten minutes' walk from the centre of the city of Kandy. We invite you to rent one of the rooms, or the whole house, for just one night, or for as long as you like. It's your break - you decide!
The cottage nestles in a little hollow, in the midst of trees, beside a tiny virgin forest - "Udawatakelle" Forest Sanctuary (the name means "the wilderness above the garden") - just one of the many splendidly green spaces that is Kandy.
Bird calls and the chirruping of insects enfold the cottage. A tribe of chattering monkeys visit it, for it lies on their daily route. Who watches whom is hard to say, for they sit solemnly on a tree or roof and watch you as you watch them. The fragrance of jasmine permeates it, and in season the coffee blossoms jostle for an airing of its fragrance. A kaleidoscope of green is all that can be seen from the cottage; in the morning and evening the sun lights up the trees into a mosaic of mellow shades
Kandy Cottage gives you space to "be". It nurtures, refreshes, and gives you peace - the peace of "being" - which many of us lose in everyday life. It is an invitation to encounter Kandy (its people and culture, both past and present), and to discover the hidden beauties of life within and around you.

Kelburne Mountain view – Haputale

The Kelburne Tea Estate has a history stretching back to the late 18C. Now cared for by the second generation of the Nadesan family, Kelburne continues to flourish and its three cute cottages attract travellers from far and wide. Red Dot has promoted Kelburne for many years with great success and the feedback is invariably good for those seeking simple but comfortable accommodation in a breathtaking location. If you rise early enough, you can be fortunate to watch pink skies as the sun rises at dawn, mountain peaks gradually looming through light mist and, as a dramtic landscape finally unfolds, a sense that you are at world's end. Breakfast on the lawn in the crisp cool air as you take in the stirring landscape of the southern highlands; stroll through the tea plantation where tea pluckers are busy with their day's work; take in the burnt orange skies at sunset and, after nightfall, savour a glass or two of wine by the fireplace. The individual cottages are undergoing a gradual transformation, each one being upgraded with additional facilities. Due to safety reasons, Kelburne is not recommended for children below 12 years.

Lake Lodge – Colombo

Martin’s Lodge – Sinharaja Rain forest
Martin's Lodge used to be the only accommodation close to the park entrance, a timeless small guesthouse cut off from the rest of the world. Martin, a charming and eccentric host, is so far behind the rest of the world that reservation requests are still collected during his weekly visit to the post office. The ten- roomed property is very basic. But those not disturbed by rudimentary facilities will feel that the hospitality and stunning location both amply make up for the lack of luxury. Martin is also and expert on the forest and will talk freely about a place that he clearly loves deeply. The guesthouse is regularly visited by naturalists, ornithologists and university students who come there for research and exploration.

Mt.Lavinia house – Mt.Lavinia

a beautiful, beach-side villa situated just 10 km south of Colombo.
Our six rooms are luxurious, our service is attentive but unobtrusive, our food is freshly cooked using local ingredients, our swimming pool and gardens are very private and our view of the Indian Ocean is quite magnificent.
Whether you book one room or the whole villa, all of this can be yours for a day, a week, a month or even longer.
So, if you’re looking for a reasonably priced alternative to those anonymous and over-priced international hotels in the city or those rather-too-crowded resorts, Mount Lavinia House is for you.
